DDS library year begins!

Dear Denver Discovery School Teachers
The library looks organized and inviting due to the gifted efforts of the Swigert Librarian Sallie Shultzabarger and the DPS Library Services Team.
Thank you!

Monday, August 19th we begin the new school year with our 6th grade students and happily the DDS library is part of the wonderful scavenger hunt that has been planned for them.

Thursday, August 22, DDS library orientation presentations are being scheduled all day.
Each session takes about 20 minutes and teachers should email me (Kathleen Kavet) to sign up for a slot.
Currently the 9:40 to 10am slot is taken.

Starting the week of August 26th the DDS library should be ready to accommodate checking out books to any 6th, 7th and 8th grade students during the following times:
·       Monday 7:50 to 11:15.
·       Tuesday 7:50 to 11:15.
·       Thursdays all day until 3:30.
During these times teachers may bring down their classes (please arrange beforehand) or send down up to 5 students at a time, with a pass, to check out books.

(Except for afterschool) – students must have a signed, timed and dated pass from their teacher. Passes must also contain the name of the student(s) … no generic passes please.

Teachers – please let me know if you are working on a special research project, and you would like me to pull books that apply and cart them for use by your class.
Thank you, and see you all in the library!
Kathleen
