Carter G. Woodson
While working as a reader for the Children’s Book Council I was privileged to be a reader/evaluator for the Charles G. Woodson award for non-fiction books that celebrated diverse culture. During my three year term reading for this important award I learned about the lasting impact Woodson gifted to us.
I have purposely endeavored to provide books to our library that have won the Carter G. Woodson medal and others that perhaps should have!
Here is a bio. about Carter G. Woodson from the NAACP.
